Simultaneous Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Thermogravimetric Analysis (SDT)
AMI uses a TA Instruments Discovery SDT 650.
The SDT combines DSC and TGA into one instrument. It measures both heat flow and weight changes in a material as a function of temperature or time under a controlled atmosphere.
| Specifications | |
| Temperature Range | Ambient to 1500 °C |
| Dynamic Temperature Precision | ±0.5 °C |
| Heating Rate (Linear) | 0.1 to 100 °C/min |
| Calorimetric Accuracy/Precision | ±2% (based on metal standards) |
| Heat Capacity Accuracy | ±5% |
| Sample Weight Capacity | 200 mg |
Typical methods include:
- ASTM E1868
- ASTM E2008
- ASTM D6375
- ASTM E1131
