WKU to Host Teacher Apprenticeship Summit

Western Kentucky University will host a statewide summit this summer to provide school districts with an understanding of the newly created USDOL K-12 Teacher Registered Apprenticeship and the step-by-step process to establish a viable apprenticeship program in their own districts.
Presenters from several groups are confirmed, including Nelson County Schools, sponsors of the first Registered Teacher Apprentice program in Kentucky and WKU, the higher education partner in the program. The Kentucky Office of Employer and Apprenticeship Services and Kentucky Department of Education will also be presenting.
This free event is on June 22, 2023, at WKU’s Martens Alumni Center. Superintendents, human resource leaders, high school principals, guidance counselors, and education preparation program leaders are highly encouraged to attend.
