Members of WKU Habitat chapter to volunteer in North Carolina

Six members of the WKU Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter will begin their summer break with a volunteer project in Burnsville, North Carolina.

The WKU group will be working on houses with Fuller Center for Affordable Housing - Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders in Yancey County, the county that received the highest three-day total of rainfall (over 30 inches) during Hurricane Helene in September 2024. 

WKU participants in the May 11-17 trip are Bryan Reaka, chapter advisor and faculty member in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Abbigayle Berger, a sophomore Construction Management major from Erlanger; Gabe Gooden, a sophomore Biology major from Smithfield; Noah Jennings, a sophomore Environmental, Geographical and Sustainability major from Bardstown, Josie Musec, a senior Construction Management major from Edwardsville, Illinois, and Quincy Otieno, a freshman Manufacturing Engineering Technology major from Shelbyville.
