WKU offers COVID-19 Learn-On sessions

The Office of Global Learning and International Affairs is partnering with the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning to sponsor a series of webinars that will serve to educate students, families and community members about COVID-19 and its impact on our campus, community and world. As a university, WKU serves as a place of discovering, learning and sharing information, and this information pipeline is especially vital during a time of crisis. To continue educating our students and those in our region about the virus and its implications, GLIA and CITL will host several COVID-19 Learn-On sessions: live discussions with experts from WKU and the community who offer a variety of perspectives on the coronavirus and how it is affecting day-to-day life.
Sessions will be hosted by John Sunnygard, Associate Provost for Global Learning and International Affairs, and viewers will be able to submit live questions to be addressed by featured guests. The first session will be offered on Thursday, April 9, at 2 p.m. and will feature Dr. Tania Basta, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, and Dr. Michelle Reece, Assistant Professor of Public Health with a focus on epidemiology. This session will explore the impact of COVID-19 through the lens of Public Health by considering what this field encompasses as well as how Public Health professionals have a unique role in addressing the current crisis.
The Public Health Learn-On session can be viewed live here (a recording will also be available afterward). GLIA and CITL will offer additional sessions throughout the coming weeks and months as WKU continues addressing the COVID-19 crisis.
