WKU continues COVID-19 Learn-On Sessions

The Office of Global Learning and International Affairs has partnered with the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning to sponsor a series of webinars that will serve to educate students, families and community members about COVID-19 and its impact on our campus, community and world. To continue educating our students and those in our region about the virus and its implications, GLIA and CITL are hosting COVID-19 Learn-On sessions: live discussions with guests from WKU and the community who offer a variety of perspectives on the coronavirus and how it is affecting day-to-day life.
The second Learn-On session will take place Thursday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. Featured guests include Chinese Flagship students who were studying in China at the time of the outbreak and had to return home, as well as two Chinese students currently studying at WKU who helped raise donations of masks for medical professionals helping fight the virus. The session can be viewed live here. Sessions are hosted by John Sunnygard, Associate Provost for Global Learning and International Affairs, and viewers are able to submit live questions to be addressed by featured guests.
The first session featured Dr. Tania Basta, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, and Dr. Michelle Reece, Assistant Professor of Public Health. Together they explored the impact of COVID-19 through the lens of Public Health and considered what this discipline encompasses as well as how Public Health professionals have a unique role in addressing the current crisis.
