Winter Weather Communications Plan
- WKU News
- Wednesday, November 12th, 2025

Here’s a reminder that WKU provides a number of ways you can find out if classes are delayed, canceled or if a campus is closed.
Schedule changes will be announced through emergency text messages, campuswide emails, on the WKU website and social media platforms and through local media outlets.
- Text messages: Students, faculty and staff who have a cell phone number on file in TopNet will receive a text message announcing changes. Students, faculty and staff can learn more about receiving emergency text messages and confirming enrollment in the emergency text system at this link.
- Online: Information will be posted on the WKU homepage and WKU News page.
- Email: Schedule changes will also be announced to WKU students, faculty and staff via campuswide email.
- Social Media: WKU’s main social media channels will share information about schedule changes. In the event of a schedule change affecting only a regional campus, information will be shared on the social media channels for that specific regional campus.
- News media: In addition, WKU will notify area media, but the fastest, most reliable information will come directly from WKU.
