WKU Professor Awarded Primary Source Project from the Library of Congress
- Wednesday, September 1st, 2021

Western Kentucky University is now a Library of Congress Consortium Member for Primary Sources.
Dr. James Oigara, an associate professor with WKU School of Teacher Education, will develop and implement a program for teachers that will increase their knowledge & skills in utilizing primary sources from the Library of Congress. Primary sources provide tangible links to the past that help students build personal connections to authentic history. Dr. Oigara will work with teacher candidates and in-service teachers to locate and practice analyzing primary sources from the Library of Congress, a skill they can incorporate into their own classroom teaching.
