Progress Tracking in Blackboard is designed to enhance student motivation, accountability and persistence. With clear, visual indicators of what has been completed, started, and not yet started, students can more effectively manage their time in the course site and focus on learning rather than trying to remember what they have already reviewed.
Faculty can also benefit from Progress Tracking. The tool provides information into how students engage with course content, making it easy to see whether students have accessed key materials before class discussions, assignments, or quizzes.
Beginning with Winter 2026 courses, Progress Tracking will be automatically enabled in Blackboard. Join CITL as we demonstrate the benefits and features of Progress Tracking from the faculty and student perspectives.
