The WKU Collegiate Recover Resource Center (CRRC) supports students in recovery from substance use disorder and those managing occurring mental health challenges. 
The Collegiate Recovery Resource Center (CRRC) Grant Program is a statewide initiative led by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and supported by funding from the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission. Launched on July 1, 2025, the program provides one-year implementation grants to selected public colleges and universities across the Commonwealth to establish campus-based recovery centers.

Goals: 
Reduce relapse and dropout risk for students in recovery.
Support academic persistence and workforce entry. 
Build sustainable recovery ecosystems across campus communities.

The ASAM Level of Care Certification Program™️ provides an independent assessment of a treatment program’s ability to deliver services consistent with The ASAM Criteria®️. Delivered in partnership with CARF International (CARF), is the first program of its kind to independently assess and verify treatment programs’ capacity to deliver services consistent with the level of care standards described in The ASAM Criteria. Their services include residential, nonmedical detox, outpatient, peer coaching, therapy, and incarceration diversion program. 

The WKU Counseling Center promotes student well-being, resilience and success by providing inclusive, accessible and holistic mental health services that support the academic mission of Western Kentucky University.

JourneyPure is a leading substance abuse and mental health treatment provider for adult men and women with residential and outpatient locations across the state of Kentucky and Tennessee. They are recognized nationally for exceptional outcomes, evidenced-based best practices and patient-centered care.  Their services include medical detox, inpatient, outpatient, and peer coaching.

90-minute sessions held twice monthly by trained NAMI facilitators. Confidential and free support groups designed to connect, encourage, and support WKU students.
