Grades 4-6
TIP-KY now offers students the opportunity to take the Iowa Assessments two grade levels above as an above-level assessment (e.g., a fourth grader will take a test designed for sixth graders).
Who is eligible?
Students in grades 4 - 6 take the Iowa Assessment two grade levels above. Eligible students are scoring high on grade-level standardized tests (approximately top 10% of age group) on at least one subject area. There are exceptions to any rule, so teachers or parents may recommend high-potential students who do not meet these general guidelines.
Registration Process
Please refer to the following directions to register students at your school(s):
- Educators request a testing date by clicking here.
- We will review our availability and confirm a test date with you.
- At that time, we will send you a link to share with families to register. If you chose to have families pay for the testing, this form will also include the ability for them to pay us directly.
- If you chose for the school/district to pay for the testing, we will email you an invoice. Students still need to register using the form we send to you.
How do I use the data?
Educators and families will receive a report explaining the student scores and comparing them to older students. In addition, the report will provide useful information for both the educators and families regarding enrichment and possible acceleration options that are appropriate, depending on the results for each subject area.
