Ashley Hockensmith is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Gordon Ford College of Business. Ashley received a B.A. in English from the College of William & Mary and a M.Ed. in Leadership & Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University before earning her Ph. D. in Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Ashley’s research largely focuses on the coordination of people and their expertise in professional service firms. She is also interested in the role clients play in firm strategy-making and value creation. Many of her research projects are inspired by her experience working in account management for research and advisory firms prior to beginning her doctoral studies. As a native Kentuckian, Ashley is excited to be in Bowling Green and for her son, Runner, to grow up alongside his numerous cousins in this welcoming community. They enjoy exploring the neighborhood on long walks and going out on Lake Cumberland with their family.
