Midnight on the Hill
Finding Cures. Saving Lives.
Thanks for your interest in Midnight on the Hill for St. Jude!
Help WKU Students support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as they continue to lead the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Midnight on the Hill is a year-long student-led philanthropic initiative, concluding an annual fundraising campaign with a campus-wide finale event. Held on March 27 at the Preston Health and Activities Center, the upcoming finale is predicted to generate over $100,000 in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The finale brings together students for an evening of community-centered activities, including live entertainment, food, games, and interactive stations. The event marks the culmination of a year-long effort by student organizers to engage peers in fundraising and advocacy for children and families receiving care at St. Jude.
Midnight on the Hill has evolved from its original form 25 years ago into a well-established tradition on campus, building momentum each year through a series of awareness and engagement events. Our organization’s mission centers on ensuring that families facing pediatric illness are supported—emotionally, financially, and medically—through the work of St. Jude.
The funds raised through this campaign will directly support patient care and research at St. Jude, contributing to the hospital’s commitment that no family receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food.

No child should die in the dawn of life..
We won't stop until no child dies from cancer. Because of St. Jude supporters, countless children have enjoyed a lifetime of moments they might otherwise have missed.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital first opened its doors on February 4, 1962, based on Danny's dream that "no child should die in the dawn of life." Since then, we’ve made incredible strides in childhood cancer research. We’ve helped improve the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80%. And ALL, the disease with a virtual death sentence in 1962, now has a survival rate of 94 percent.
Curious about where your donations go? Take a look at the following Statistics…
Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from generous donors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most—saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Here are some ways your donation could be used to support the patients of St. Jude:
- $10 can help provide a new toy for hospital play areas or recreational areas at St. Jude housing facilities
- $36 can help provide a St. Jude family with meals for one day in the Kay Kafe, the St. Jude cafeteria
- $64 can help cover the cost of four platelet count tests
- $108 can help cover about two-thirds of the cost of one hour of physical therapy
When you make a donation using this information, your donation will be used to provide breakthrough research, treatment, and cures. Items listed here are representative of services and supplies that are part of the treatment and care of children at St. Jude.
The cost of each item or service is an approximation and will vary based on actual costs incurred and individual patient needs. Your donation will be used for the general operating needs of St. Jude, where no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
