The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation was created by Congress in 1975 as the nation’s living memorial to President Harry S. Truman and selects and supports the next generation of public service leaders.
Truman Scholars receive $30,000 for graduate school and professional development opportunities to prepare for a career in public service leadership. Applicants must be college juniors at the time of selection and nominated by the campus committee in November.
