- Thursday, October 16th, 2025

The Gender & Women’s Studies Program will host their annual Genderations Luncheon on Friday, October 24, in HCIC 1011.
Prof. Kathryn Reetzke (WKU History) will give a presentation titled: "Teaching Women and Agency in Ancient World History”
Be immersed in the past through the words of women who predate our modern conceptions of "feminism" and the ways in which they formed their own identities in ancient societies. In this presentation Prof. Reetzke will discuss the primary sources she collected for teaching World History from the perspective of women where restrictions, laws, and cultural norms often attempted to negate women's power. An activity working with some of the sources and images of artifacts relating to this project will also be part of this presentation
A free catered lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m., with the presentation to follow at 12:20 p.m.
If you would like to attend the luncheon portion of the event, please RSVP by emailing marla.zubel@wku.edu.
Those who can’t make the luncheon portion of the event are still encouraged to come to the lecture at 12:20 p.m. No reservation necessary!
This event is open to all students, faculty and staff.
