Homecoming and Presidential Speaker Series
- Monday, October 20th, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
Each year, Homecoming brings with it a unique spirit that unites our campus community with alumni, friends and neighbors. More than a football game, it’s a celebration of who we are as Hilltoppers and a reminder of the legacy we share.
I hope you plan to join us on Friday, October 31, for our Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally. The parade kicks off at Avenue of Champions and Cherry Hall, travels down College Street to Fountain Square Park and concludes at East Main Avenue and Adams Street, where a spirited pep rally will follow. Come celebrate with the Bowling Green Community as floats from campus organizations make their way through the city – complete with Hilltopper pride!
On Saturday, November 1, we’ll enjoy a full day of tailgating, reunions and campus gatherings leading up to the Homecoming football game at 2:30 p.m. against New Mexico State. You can find more information about all of our Homecoming festivities here.
Homecoming remains important because it connects the past, present and future of WKU. Our alumni return to campus with stories of the classrooms, professors and friendships that shaped their lives. Our students create memories that define their own Hilltopper journey. And our faculty and staff showcase the excellence of their work and the warmth of our community. Together, these moments affirm the values of belonging, pride and connection that set WKU apart.
As a reminder, in the days following Homecoming, we will have another remarkable opportunity to come together for an evening of learning and conversation. On Tuesday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. in Van Meter Auditorium, the Presidential Speaker Series will welcome Dr. Jean Twenge, a nationally recognized psychologist, researcher and author. Dr. Twenge has written extensively on generational trends, cultural shifts and the effects of technology on society, particularly among young people. Her work has sparked important conversations about how we live, learn and lead in a rapidly changing world.
Bringing Dr. Twenge to campus is a chance for our community to engage in a discussion about the broader cultural forces shaping our experiences. Whether you are a faculty member navigating evolving classroom dynamics or a staff member interested in the ways society influences our work, you will find her insights both relevant and inspiring. I hope you plan to attend this lecture and take part in the dialogue it will generate.
Thank you for the role you play in making WKU the vibrant and welcoming place it is. I look forward to seeing you at Homecoming and at the Presidential Speaker Series.
Go Tops!
Best,
Timothy C. Caboni
