Early Childhood Music and Movement Classes
Make Musical Memories! We offer beginning music classes for your child (ages 0 - 5) to explore their creativity and enhance cognitive development through singing, dancing, and instrument play. Children have tons of energy and curiosity and we will nutrure that through our engaging courses. No experience necessary! Your child will learn fine motor skills, whole body movement, and social skills, while actively participating in music making. Early childhood music classes are also proven to foster physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
The courses are taught by WKU Music Faculty with training in Kindermusik, the Suzuki Method, and academic degrees in music performance and music education.
Please note: This class is designed to introduce your child to foundational musical concepts. The class is operated by the WKU String Academy, but it NOT a violin instructional class. String Academy teachers will bring violins into the class at various parts of the semester, and students will have the opportunity to see and touch the violins, but this class is not designed for learning how to the play the violin. If you are interested in the learning the violin, we have designed our WKU Summer String Academy Twinklers Session for this purpose. Please visit the SSI website for more information.
