Academic Counseling

Student Success Specialists connect students with the resources they need to make the most of their time at Gatton. Through regular meetings, they help students strengthen time management, self-management, and study skills, while also encouraging them to take advantage of academic supports at both Gatton and WKU, such as tutoring, faculty office hours, and study groups.

Beyond academics, Student Success Specialists serve as mentors and advocates who promote self-discipline, accountability, and a growth mindset. They help students find balance, prioritize attendance, communicate effectively with professors, and reflect on their personal goals.

Student Success Specialists also coordinate key academic and registrar processes, including course registration, transcripts, graduation requirements, and other academic record needs.

Our offices in Florence Schneider Hall are welcoming spaces where students can ask questions, seek advice, or simply check in. Whether you’re adjusting to college coursework, exploring new opportunities, or facing challenges along the way, we’re here to support your success at Gatton and beyond.

At the Gatton Academy, we embrace challenge as an essential component of growth. Our counseling services aim to provide individualized support for students to navigate the challenges of college, build resilience, and thrive both in and outside of the classroom.

College Counseling

The ultimate goal of The Gatton Academy’s college counseling program is to assist each student in finding the right “fit” for them in their next steps after graduation from Gatton.

Mental Health Counseling

Gatton has two full-time licensed therapists on staff who provide confidential counseling for personal issues that affect Gatton students academically, socially, or emotionally.
