Upgrading TopNet to Banner 9


Project Header

 

WKU TopNet will be upgrading to Banner 9 during Fall, 2025. While this is an institution-wide initiative led by WKU Information Technology Services, this page is dedicated specifically to how the upgrade will impact Human Resources processes. Key areas affected will include TopNet employee self-service, leave reporting, and EPAFs.

This site will serve as the central source for updates and training materials related to HR-specific changes. We invite you to explore the content to better understand how these updates may affect your HR-related tasks, and encourage you to visit regularly as new updates become available.

 

August 26, 2025

Launch of the Banner 9 Self-Service Personal Information Module
  • Serves as the location for employees to update their personal details including name, email, phone number, emergency contact information, and more.
  • Employees will continue to access the "Personal Information" page through TopNet. Once you click the links within that page, you will be directed to the updated interface. 

November 3, 2025

Launch of the Banner 9 Leave Reporting Module
  • Serves as the location for employees to submit their leave reports and view leave balances.
  • Serves as the location for supervisors to approve leave reports.
  • Employees will continue to access the "Leave Report" page through TopNet. Once you click the link, you will be directed to the updated interface.
  • Training videos uploaded.

November 3, 2025

Launch of the EPAF Request Form and Banner 9 EPAF Module
  • EPAF originators will now initiate EPAFs using the EPAF Request Form.
  • Following submission, the EPAF will be generated by HR, and the routing and approval process will proceed through the updated interface.
  • Employees will continue to access the "Electronic Personnel Action Forms" page through TopNet to approve EPAFs. Once you click the link, you will be directed to the updated interface.
  • Training Videos uploaded.
